1. SAMUEL A.1 WILLIAMS was born March 22, 1804 in Tennessee, and died July 25, 1866 in San Augustine County, Texas. He married MARIA LUESA TERISA BURDETT August 04, 1841 in San Augustine County, Texas. She was born August 27, 1821 in Shelby County, Tennessee, and died October 16, 1898 in Soules Chapel, Upshur County, Texas.

Notes for SAMUEL A. WILLIAMS:

Samuel born in Tennessee in 1804 but moved with his family to Limestone County, Alabama in 1808 where he grew to manhood. He was licensed to preach by the Methodist Church and went back to Tennessee in 1835. In 1838 he was sent to San Augustine, Texas. In 1840 he was designated as presiding elder for the Galveston District. He returned to San Augustine in 1841 where he Married the widow Maria Burdett Kellogg on 8/5/1841. He took a sabbatical from the church as a "supernumerary minister". The widow's husband , Ebenezer Kellogg  was assistant quartermaster general of the army of the Texas Republic and had left a considerable estate. Samuel needed to administer the estate which was not settled for several years.

He again left San Augustine in 1858 to accept the presiding elder position in Rusk, Texas. He stayed until 1863 when he retired and returned to San Augustine.

After his death in 1866 the family sold the San Augustine place and moved to Upshur County.

Notes for HOWARD FLETCHER WILLIAMS:

Howard immigrated to Pasadena, California some time around 1924 and was in carpentry/contracting business. At the time of the start of WW II he went to work for the railroad and was moved to Chico, California where he lived until the war ended. In 1946 he, in partnership with his son Hollis, purchased and developed homes in Lodi, California. In 1950 they moved their contracting business to Sacramento, California and Howard and Hettie (his wife) purchased and built their home in Carmichael, a suburb of Sacramento. This was his place of residence when he died. His death was the result of heat troubles and the last 4 months of life were spent in a residence home in Auburn, California which is his place of death. He is buried in the family mausoleum at Sierra Cemetery in Citrus Heights, California.

Notes for HOLLIS SPENCER WILLIAMS:

Hollis born in Texas and moved to Pasadena, California with his parents some time around 1924 and grew to adulthood there. While a student at Pasadena College (now Point Loma Nazarene College) he met his wife Irene. He worked with his father in the carpentry/ contracting business until the start of world war II at which time he went to work for the Southern Pacific Railroad. At the end of the war he in partnership with his father he built homes and developed land in Lodi, California. One of the main streets in Lodi is Holly Drive which is named for him (Holly being his common name). In 1950 he and his father moved their business to Sacramento, California. He was in the contracting business until his death in 1970 from a heart attack. .He is buried in East Lawn Cemetery in Sacramento.
